Lately I have been fascinated by the ocean. Particularly the colors the waves contain. Blues, purples, greens and turquoise. And how the wet sand shimmers with these same colors. So recently I can not wait to get to my studio and paint the ocean. Sometimes I look at reference photos and sometimes I stray and just imagine what the waves crashing on the shore look like--at least in my mind.
This painting I decided to add a Sand Piper. Those little birds run back and forth all day long looking for something to snack on as the surf ebbs and wanes on the sand.
Making art has been a part of Joanne's life since early childhood. Joanne strives to keep creating, learning, and growing with her art. She is a juried member of Pastel Society of America.
